Hi friends. I'm Mandey. Or, Mama Mandolin. Want to know where that came from? I was called Mama way before I was ever a Mama. In college for a summer I lived with a bunch of guys and was pretty much their mom, cooking, toting their sunscreen to the beach...I got the nickname Mama. One afternoon, a couple of the guys and I were out eating and one guy casually asks me what Mandey is short for, "Mandolin?"(because obviously Mandolin is such a common name.)
From then on, I was officially known as Mama, Mando, or Mama Mandolin.
These days I'm a stay-at-home-mama (in the San Francisco Bay area ) to Julian and Isaiah, a couple of afro sporting toddler twin boys who are the essence of cool. I'm also wifey to the best looking web designer hunk, Chikeize, who makes my heart pitter patter, my eyes roll and my stomach ache from laughing. He's quite possibly the funniest human I know.
I started this blog when we moved to California (from Iowa) when I was pregnant, as a way to keep family and friends up to date on my pregnancy. It's slowly transformed into my main outlet of creativity, a great place to meet new like-minded friends and a day-by-day baby/motherhood book of sorts. I love this little bloggy home of mine, and I hope you stick around and hang with us!
