We had a very low key July 4th, due to the fact that last year in Santa Barbara we were in MASS crowds, at one point stuck under an underpass with people screaming USA! so loud we felt like something bad could have happened. I generally dislike huge gatherings of people.
So instead we hung out in the first day of really warm weather we'd had in awhile, drinking wine and just...enjoying life. That evening we went for a walk around the neighborhood, took some cute pictures in the back yard and had our own little fireworks show with sparklers and smoke bombs.
The last picture was our grand finale. We were all hooting and hollering and clapping and generally going crazy for the 5 sparklers and the boys loved it.
I think we'll enjoy a low key 4th again next year.
